Course Purpose:
The purpose of this course is to provide educators, activity directors, and out-of-school time professionals inspiration and easy, affordable ideas that pair team work with STEAM concepts. In the world of science, there are many ways we can introduce fun concepts that are exciting, challenging, scalable, cross categorical, and inexpensive. Your group will also develop problem solving skills and learn how to work together to complete the challenges.
Course Description:
This short course was created by Brian Armstong, an S&S Worldwide Associate, that works in the field with many customers like you. His goal was to showcase easy and affordable activities to share with customers. There are 5 challenges which will be described with pictures, video and instructions that are meant to give educators something they can bring to their programs and allow the makerspace approach to take flight, while supporting the need to include high level STEAM concepts within budget. Offering simple challenges with visual supports helps instructors teach concepts in engineering, introduce the color wheel, physics, and chain reactions.
The pictures and videos within the course feature S&S staff completing the challenges.
Many of the challenges within this course were inspired and modified from Pinterest and the blog entitled Frugal Fun for Boys.
