Course Description: This self-paced online course is designed for physical educators and coaches who wish to learn how to create simple game animations to support student learning in their physical education or sport programs. Game animations can help you present new games, or tactical concepts to your students visually in a highly engaging way. Using the power of Keynote for Mac you will design custom graphics, animate and explore ways to share and present your new animations with students.

  • Create game animations for your physical education or sport program.
  • Add voice-overs to your game animations.

Technology needed to complete: To be able to create game animations using all the features described in this course, we advise that you have a Mac computer (desktop or laptop) with Keynote for Mac installed. Some features are available using Keynote for iOS however it is not as straightforward as the Mac version.

Course Design/Schedule: We have estimated this module will take approximately 5 clock hours to complete. This will vary with every learner. Since the course will take approximately 5 hours you could apply for 5 professional development hours from your school/school district. Make sure to check with your principal or professional development coordinator to see how this works in your district.

Students will work through the course in a sequential manner, learning then applying their new skills to build increasingly complex game animations. No previous experience with Keynote is required.

Training Resources/References: As part of this course you will have access to a toolkit of pre-made players, equipment and playing spaces to speed up your creation of game animations.
